DAVID M. PARKER

Mr. Parker is a partner who specializes in general civil litigation and real estate matters, with an emphasis on real estate broker representation, real estate transactions and common interest development matters.  Mr. Parker also advises clients on commercial leases, land use and real estate development/investment issues. 

Mr. Parker received an AA with honors from Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vermont, and a Bachelors of Art with honors from California State University, Chico.  Mr. Parker obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was an assistant editor of the Pacific Law Journal and published Proposition Four:  Preventive Detention v. Pre-Trial Liberty in the Pacific Law Journal.   Mr. Parker received the American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts and was First Runner-Up, Best Oralist, in the International Moot Court Program.  He is a lifetime member of the Traynor Honor Society.  While attending law school, Mr. Parker was a law clerk for the Sacramento County Superior Court Legal Research Department. 

Prior to establishing this firm in 1990, Mr. Parker was a partner in the San Francisco firm of England, Parker & Belote, where he specialized in commercial real estate and commercial litigation.  From 1983 to 1986, Mr. Parker was with the East Bay firm of Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May (now Reed Smith), where Mr. Parker specialized in civil litigation.

Mr. Parker is a member in good standing of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar for the Northern District of California.  He is a member of the California Association Of Realtors Strategic Defense Panel [http://www.car.org/legal/strategic-defense-program/strategic-defense-panel/], Legal Affairs Forum, and Tort Reform Committee.  He is also a member of the Bar Associations of Marin, San Diego and San Francisco.  He was President of the Larkspur Chamber of Commerce in 1995-1996 and is a former Membership Chair of the Mill Valley Rotary Club.  Mr. Parker has hands on experience with common interest developments having served for a number of years as the HOA President for a ninety five (95) unit high rise condominium.


C. ROYDA CROSLAND

Ms. Crosland is a partner who focuses her practice on employment law and has extensive experience in civil rights litigation, wrongful termination, employment discrimination and sexual harassment in both federal and state courts.  She also has expertise in qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs) under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and state law.

Ms. Crosland advises clients about the design and operation of personnel policies, employment contracts, QDROs and health care continuation laws (COBRA).  She has lectured extensively on employment law issues, COBRA, QDROs and welfare plans.  She has been instrumental in developing handbooks on COBRA and QDROs.

Ms. Crosland earned her BA with honors from the University of New Mexico, an MA in public administration with honors from California State University, Fresno, and her law degree with honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she was Executive Editor of the USF Law Review.  From 1984 until February of 1987, Ms. Crosland practiced tax law at Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May (now Reed Smith Crosby Heafey) in Oakland.  Ms. Crosland then joined the Employee Benefits Group of Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP (now Pillsbury Winthrop), where she practiced until joining this firm in 1992.

Ms. Crosland is a member in good standing of the American Bar Association, the California Bar Association, the Bar Associations of Marin, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, the Marin County Women Lawyers, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the California Employment Lawyers Association and the Federal Bar for the Northern District of California.  Ms. Crosland was President of the Marin County Bar Association in 2000 and is a Past President of the San Francisco Area Women Tax Lawyers.  Ms. Crosland currently serves on the Board of the Marin County Bar Association as its "5-Year" Past President.  Ms. Crosland has been a delegate to the Conference of Delegates for the past 12 years.
